A note from John Denvers

Outreach 2083 has been a long time coming.

The idea started simply — what happens to the world's balance of power when something genuinely unprecedented is discovered? Not just a new technology, not a political crisis, but something that changes the terms of every conversation humanity has ever had about its place in the universe.

I wanted to write a science fiction novel that took politics seriously. Not as a backdrop, but as the engine of the story. The three great powers of 2083 — America, Europa, and the Empire of Asia — did not arrive at their uneasy peace by accident. They fought for it. And the question the book keeps asking is how much of that peace any of them are actually willing to protect when something extraordinary is at stake.
